BJES Learning Community,

Good Friday morning! BJES had an awesome, short week. Next week looks to be a hub of activity at BJES, so please read over the details of the upcoming events, and if you have any questions or concerns, then please do not hesitate to contact BJES. We are here to serve you!

Ben Johnson Elementary School students and staff would like to personally invite you to attend a Veterans' Day Ceremony on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 9:00 A.M. We would like to honor you for your service to our country by recognizing you at our Veterans’ Day Ceremony on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 9:00 in our gymnasium. If there is a parent, sibling, guardian, or grandparent who has served in the armed forces, please fill out a Veterans’ Day information form. The forms have been sent home with students and are also available on the BJES website and at the school. If you have any memorabilia, such as pictures, military items, or documents, you would like to display in our gallery walk through, then we will gladly exhibit them. If you have any questions or concerns, then please feel free to contact the school at 270-756-3070.

BJES would also like to invite you to our annual BJES Thanksgiving Dinner. The cost of the meal is $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. BJES students will enter their lunchroom numbers. We look forward to you being able to come! Here is a schedule for the meals. If you have more than one child, please visit with your first child’s lunch, and your other child will be pulled to eat with you. If you have any questions, then please do not hesitate to ask. Dinner Schedule: Willis: 10:15-10:45; Stevenson: 10:25-10:55; Hughes: 10:35–11:05; Butler: 10:45-11:15; Hall: 10:55-11:25; Chandler: 11:05-11:35; Thompson: 11:15-11:45; Carman: 11:25-11:55; Smith: 11:35-12:05; Renfro: 11:45-12:15; Powell: 11:55-12:25

The Principal’s Challenge for this week is related to the #BRECKSTRONG - Focus of the Month, Resilient. This week, think about three big problems in the world, and how working together, we can work to solve them. The Principal’s Challenge can be in the form of a letter, poster, article, or illustration. The Principal’s Challenge will be due Thursday, November 15th. Working together, anything is possible! #BelieveInU
