Earns Proficient Rating

The Kentucky Department of Education released test score and school/district accountability data for the Kentucky Unbridled Learning model on Friday, October 3, 2014. Ben Johnson Elementary School earned an overall score of 72.7 out of 100 for the 2013-2014 school year and ranked in the 83rd percentile in the state of Kentucky. Our school has been classified as a proficient school.

Ben Johnson Elementary School earned scores in the areas of reading, math, science, social studies, writing, and language mechanics. The students at Ben Johnson Elementary School outperformed the state of Kentucky in the areas of Math, Social Studies, Writing, and in our GAP population of students. The school scores are listed in the table below with state averages for comparison purposes.

The Ben Johnson Elementary School Learning Community will be working diligently at improvements to take Ben Johnson Elementary School to the distinguished classification, once again. Our learning community has already been developing new strategies to better meet the needs of all students. We are also working hard within our Professional Learning Community teams to develop improvements that will ensure all of our students are mastering learning targets aligned with our common core state standards.

The Ben Johnson Elementary School Learning Community is a community filled with pride, character, and excellence. Therefore, as we move further into this school year and the next, Ben Johnson will continue to strive and meet the needs of every child, every chance, and every day.
