BJES 2019 Kentucky Performance Rating

for Educational Progress (KPREP) Results

BJES Learning Community,

The 2019 Kentucky Performance Rating for Educational Progress (KPREP) Results have been released today.  BJES has been rated a three star school on a five star scale. BJES KPREP results for the 2019 school year may be accessed at the following web address http://www.kyschoolreportcard.com.

BJES was rated medium in Proficiency.  Proficiency is defined as reaching the desired level of knowledge and skills as measured on state-required academic assessments. It is designed to measure how students achieve on Kentucky’s Academic Standards in reading and mathematics.

BJES received a rating of High in Separate Academic.  The Separate Academic Indicator is determined by reaching the desired level of knowledge and skills in science, social studies and writing in elementary and middle schools, and science and writing at high school.

BJES received a rating of Very Low in Growth.  Growth is based on a comparison of student performance from one year to the next in reading and mathematics. The school is assigned points (0-300) based upon a Growth Value Table. The more the student grows, the more points are awarded. Growth is determined at the elementary and middle school levels only.

Ben Johnson Elementary School is very focused on raising the bar for Proficiency in Reading and Math.  BJES continues to work at meeting the individual needs of all students. As we continue to work at increasing proficiencies for our students in all academic areas, please do not hesitate to reach out to BJES to meet the individual needs of your child.  Working together, we will continue to move BJES and all of our learning community forward.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael Broadbent, BJES Principal
